Broadsands

Alongside the usual small group of Cirl Bunting in the car park this evening, the bay at broadsands held at least 10 Great Northern Diver and a 2 pale-morph Arctic Skua (which were enjoying harassing the gulls fairly close in). The latter feels like a decent record for January.

Eds: suspect the two skuas were Pomarine Skuas, Arctic really will be in the southern oceans at this time of year -  there have been several records of Pomarine Skuas (much more likely - including pale phase adults or near adult birds) over the last month. Pomarine Skuas with broken tails or shredded tails can show pointed central tail feathers.
