Plym Estuary & Saltram

At least 11 Goosanders (6 drakes) including a flock of 10 mid-way up the estuary, a pair of Red-breasted Mergansers, 7 Little Grebes, Jack Snipe, Snipe, 1 or 2 Common Sandpipers, 9 Wigeon, 2 Shags, 2 Grey Wagtails, a pair of Mandarin Ducks & a Green Woodpecker.

Visiting birders may want to note that a new viewing area created by National Trust just to the north of Blaxton Meadow gives improved views of the top end of the estuary. This has been put in place to compensate for restricted access nearby (which has been very succesful in increasing numbers of birds using the Meadow).
