Driving to my field this morning at the back end of Codden Hill, all of a sudden there were Swallows everywhere and another bird which dropped into the road in front of me. I had to stop in order not to run it over. it took off revealing a large whit patch at the base of it's tail and landed in a nearby tree. Not exactly where I would have expected to see a Wheatear, a country lane surrounded by farmland.
