Shipley Bridge ~ Avon Dam

A walk up to the Avon Dam from Shipley Bridge Nr South Brent this morning gave 24 species, the highlight being an Osprey passing the front of the dam headed west.

Other species included two Dipper one ringed, (L ~ yellow ring over metal ring, R ~ red ring over green) Grey Wagtail, Chiffchaff, two Sparrow hawk, Stonechat, Heron, Kestrels showing well with four separate sightings, two Raven, Buzzard, Linnet and Goldfinch.

A reasonable crop of Rowan and Hawthorn berries bodes well for when the thrushes arrive.

Small number of butterflies.
