Slapton Sands

204 Mediterranean Gulls on the beach this afternoon in a large gull flock south of the memorial car park, c95% juveniles. Presumably many more in the gull flocks towards Strete Gate. A good couple of thousand Herring Gulls and 300+ Lesser Black-backed Gulls also on the beach with 73 Sanderlings and 20 plus Sandwich Terns. Offshore at least 5 and maybe as many as 9 Arctic Skuas keeping everyone nervous. Encouraging to see reasonable numbers of Kittiwakes including many juvs. Plenty of whitebait just offshore bringing in the Mackeral. Blue-fin Tuna reported yesterday off Start Point.
