Darting ~ Stover ~ South Brent

The Dartington Drive flood meadow contained a large flock of Canadian Geese including two hybrid birds, several flights of birds were lifting off as I arrived but a count of 152 of birds still on the meadow, most had lifted off and flown down towards the Rv Dart by 8.15, one drake Teal, several Mallard, Grey Wagtail and one Mute Swan.

Goldcrest, Blue and Coal Tits in the nearby trees.

Stover late morning gave views of Jay, Pochard (3), Tufted Duck (3) Great Crested Grebe (4), Lesser Black Back Gull (2) Marsh Tit, a male Goosander on the lake and a fly over by a second male.

Back home at South Brent the garden feeders were again busy, mid-afternoon gave Siskin, two sightings of a female Sparrow Hawk, Buzzard, Wren, Redwing, initially a flight of six Starling but a flock of 39 came across the field just before 4pm, Pied Wagtails, a male Greater Spotted Woodpecker, the highlight being the months second sighting in the garden of a Treecreeper.
