American Wigeon -- Bowling Green Marsh

The highlight was a sub-adult male American Wigeon seen in field alongside footpath to viewing platform at 1150hrs and still there when we left mid- afternoon amongst c70-Wigeon and c40-Black-tailed Godwits + 7-Brent Geese + Water Rail along the hedgerow + 1-Snipe around the pool + 20-Grey Plover + 1-Sparrowhawk from the platform. From the hide 2-Egyptian Geese + 12-Greylag Geese + 2-Pintail + c200-Wigeon + c40-Lapwing + c70-Teal + c65-Shoveler. From the goatwalk c500-Avocet  + c400-Lapwing + c1000+ Black-tailed Godwits + c70-Redshank +  c100-Golden Plover + 3-Red Breasted Mergansers + 3-Great-crested Grebes.  A few Goldcrest amongst the Long-tailed Tit flocks moving around the hedgerows up and down the road.  Link to video.
