Firecrest, Cirls & Yellow Browed Warbler

Broadsands midmorning gave a good number of gathering birders thanks to some decent sunny weather.

At least two Firecrest showing in the corner of the left hand closed off car park and one in the cover where the Cirl Buntings are fed.

Unable to keep up with a count on the Goldcrest numbers, I have rarely ever seen so many in one place.

The reported Yellow Browed Warbler came in with a large flock of Long Tailed Tits, Chiffchaff showing in several locations around the car parks, male Bullfinch, Goldfinch flock feeding on the Alders.

Three Cirl Buntings, five Dunnock’s where the seed is scattered, several Chaffinch and a very aggressive Robin chasing off anything that landed near the feed.

On the way home a very acrobatic Raven, rolling and diving and two 50 plus sized flocks of Wood Pigeon just outside of Dartington.

At South Brent a count of 36 Redwings late afternoon.
