Saltram & Plym Estuary

Paid a visit this morning and early afternoon on a rising tide. Species identified were: blackbird, canada geese (about 50), chaffinch, curlews (about 20), dunnock, little egrets (3), little grebes (4), grey  herons (6), male pheasant, pied wagtails, redshanks (about 50), robins, starlings, herring gulls, black-headed gulls, common sandpiper (3), wren (3) and a kingfisher. Surprise was a very late freshly emerged peacock butterfly. Weather overcast with sunny spells.

If anyone is going to Saltram from Sainsbury's end the path from the end of the Railway Bridge to the Sewage Outfall has been cut back providing wide open views of the Plym.
