The highlight was prolonged views of a Short-eared Owl quartering the rough field at mid-Soar at dawn, Also: Merlin, Ring Ouzel, Firecrest, Golden Plover (30), Chiffchaff (8), Bullfinch (4+), Redpoll sp (presumed Lesser), Meadow Pipit (50+ including one with a partially albino head), Skylark (just c40), Redwing (6+), Song Thrush (3+), Siskin (3+), Wheatear (2), Blackcap (3), Goldcrest (11), Grey Wagtail, and Coal Tit.

At South Huish, later, the Isabelline Shrike showing only on the field side of the hedge opposite the White House; the "flat" light re-inforcing my feeling from earlier in the week, that it's a Daurian (although not every feature perfect).
