A good morning. Early arrival rewarded with nice flight views of a Bittern which dropped into the reeds near the bridge at 07.50. On the Ley the 2 Red-crested Pochards still (drakes, now moulted at Torcross end), also a 1W Yellow-legged Gull (north end).

Some overhead migration: 200+ Meadow Pipits, 30 Siskin, small flocks of Goldfinch and Greenfinch going over, 2 Redwings, 3 Mistle Thrushes and  8 Swallows. 20+ Chiff-Chaffs, Blackcap, 15 Goldcrests,  3 Firecrests and a Dartford Warbler.
