South Brent ~ Paignton

Large movement of  Redwings over South Brent this morning from just after 7.30 until just after 8.15 all headed easterly, counts of 32, 10,11, 22, 71, 25, 22, 10, 12, 19, then a flock far too many to count given distance etc but over 100 estimated, 13 and finally 3 giving in excess of 300 birds.

At Marine Parade the Turnstones were showing in good numbers 27 counted including the rung bird and from images taken today and over the last few weeks I can now read a ring number of Arnhem VT ~ Holland ~ Z010032 confirming that this is the same bird that over wintered at this location as last year.

22 Oyster Catcher, good numbers of both Black Head and Herring Gulls with only the one Greater Black Back, one Rock Pipit.

A visit to Paignton zoo gave a Grey Wagtail, Buzzard, Long Tailed Tits and Jay.
