East Soar

Highlight of the morning was the first Ring Ouzel of the autumn in Starehole Valley. The berry crop is poor so there may not be many hanging around this year! A thorough, if fruitless, search of the usual scrub areas failed to turn up any YBW but migrants/probable migrants included male Great Spotted Woodpecker, 28 Swallow, 310 Meadow Pipit, 41 Alba Wagtail, 25 Blackcap, 9 Chiffchaff, 18 Goldcrest, 15 Blue Tit ( many more than usual ), 4 Jay in Starehole & 2m 3f Bullfinch ( moving through Starehole ).

Also: 41 Robin ( probably not an influx but just resident birds being much more active ), 80 Skylark & 110 Linnet
