Osprey on the Exe

A glorious afternoon’s weather while walking the Exe estuary from Powderham to Turf.

Three Osprey sightings of birds in full flight over the river and mud flats, the third bird came upriver carrying a fish and then turned inland on reaching Turf and flew towards Haldon.

A count of 37 Starling’s and a notable increase in the numbers of Ringed Plover, four Wheatear sightings, two Kestrel, plenty of Goldfinch feeding on thistle heads.

A total of 32 species identified and one un identified Warbler.
