Roadford Lake (Reservoir) - Southweek - Tuft areas

Visited the area with Wally James in advance of fieldtrip to same area on Tues 6 Nov (see East Devon Branch Programme).  The water levels were very high with lakeside margins all submerged.  Concentrated on Southweek viaduct area where a few birds were present on the lake including Gt Crested and Little Grebes, Tufted Duck, Gadwall (4) and Coot.  Overhead a few Redwing flew over.

Moving on to Tuft area a Raven and a Sparrow Hawk were overhead before we found a mixed Tit flock which included Treecreeper.  A pair of Marsh/Willow Tit passed through leaving us unsure as to ID. Returning south we visited the Westmoor/ North Wortha peninsular taking the path from the Southweek hide where Lg T Tits and Goldcrest were present and then the surprise birds of the afternoon 2 late Hobby.  A couple of Wigeon were present on the lake.
