Challacombe area, Dartmoor

Firsts for the spring singles of male Cuckoo, a male Redstart, a male Whinchat, a Common Whitethroat singing away (unusual here). Several male Wheatear thorugh the valley although not as many as last week so i assume migrants have moved on leaving the residents. Swallows were back last Wednesday and some nine Willow Warbler are singing away.

With reference to the colour ringed  Great White Egret below, all colour ringed birds can be reported through the European Colour Ringing website and you will find out where your bird was ringed.

When you recieve the details please pass them on to me so they can be included in the Annual Report. Many Thanks.
