Topsham

watched from topsham rec 13:30 till 17:45

after 2 weeks with no birding ( sorting out our wedding for July) it was great to get back out this afternoon to do the annual gull count on the exe.

At least 4 Mediterranean gulls( 3 adult, 1 2nd winter) , one group of 124+ common gulls and a steady stream of smaller groups during the afternoon, among the usual large numbers of black headed gulls and herring gulls.

an active peregrine over exminster marsh moved a group of 500+ Brent geese on to the river in front of us , 3 red breasted mergansers , 3 goldeneye flew past ( 1 male , 2 female), 25+ snipe, 1 grey plover, 1 buzzard.

overall a good afternoon
