Decoy Lake, Newton Abbot

My first visit to Decoy Lake, Newton Abbot for many years, gave views of the male Scaup,

a little bit distant and initially sound asleep with its head tucked under its wing in very chilly conditions, before preening and then beginning to dive, good numbers of Tufted duck on the lake with a single

Gadwall, a Great Crested Grebe, close up of a calling Kingfisher that flew by at close range. Good numbers of Coot, Moorhen & Black Headed Gull some of which are beginning to get their dark head plumage, a handful of Mute Swans, Mallard and some feral domestic duck type species and one farm yard Goose.
