Beesands

Beesands Ley, 07:45-10:00. Bright morning, chilly moderate NW wind.

Present this morning, 3 Little Grebes, 3 Cormorant inc. at least one sinensis, 18 Gadwall, 50 Tufted Duck, Red-crested Pochard x Tufted Duck ( presumably our old friend, the hybrid male ), 70 Coot and 2 or 3 calling Water Rails. Single Otter showed on and off for 15 minutes from 08:35. Little on the sea except for some Razorbills and 4 Great Crested Grebes. 10 Common Scoter distant off Torcross.

Without wishing to be argumentative re Mikes comments on keeping post brief , personally i quite like a bit of prose and think it enhances a lot of post ( i managed to put a lid on wandering as lonely as a  cloud around Beesands this morning ). If a post highlights an authors enjoyment and enthusiasm with a few extra lines it adds a descriptive element thats cool by me. Could not agree more with what Mike highlighted re breeding birds however.
