Otter Estuary, Budleigh Salterton and Woodbury Common Sat/Sun

No sign of the Bittern, over the weekend despite looking on Saturday and today. Hopefully it will re-appear. A lone Purple Sandpiper on the rocks off Otter Ledge with a few Turnstone and 37 Brent Geese on the estuary/cricket pitch (a good count for here!). Also at least 4 Shoveler on the scrapes, 30+ Curlew, 4 Lapwing and 5+ Black-tailed Godwit plus the usual Teal and Wigeon. A merlin hunting at dusk on the Commons, light too poor to sex bird.
