Exminster Marshes & Turf

My WeBS count today was a pleasure; sunny and dry. In the fields south of Turf were c600 black-tailed godwits and 140 brent geese. The snow bunting was still entertaining the photographers.

North of the Turf was a large flock of c1200 brent geese that included the black brant.

Elsewhere lots of biirds, especially wigeon, teal, lapwing and redshank. On the estuary about 10 red-breasted mergansers were just off the Turf. I saw 3 chiffchaffs, including a very grey individual, in station road.
