Broadsands and Dartington

A first light visit to Broadsands the Yellow Browed Warbler continues to evade me but visitng birders from Norfolk and Somerset claimed to have heard one calling while visiting to see the loations Cirl Buntings which were showing reasonably well.

Having listened to the Firecrest call on the Birdguides sites one certainly present but not seen, Goldcrest and Chiffchaff showing, five Bullfinch two males and presumably the three female seen earlier in the week showing well, several Wrens, a male Sparrow hawk came over the car park hedge by the marsh just after I had arrived and later a female seen soaring overhead mobbed by two Crows, low overhead pass by a Raven, lots of Chaffinch, Goldfinch showing well and one female Greenfinch.

On the way home stopped off on Dartington Drive below the flood plain field, the willows and oaks towards the river were alive with Goldcrests and one very confiding Wren.
