The South Brent Ring Ouzels are still here..............

A walk out onto Dartmoor from Aish Ridge above South Brent this afternoon resulted in the unexpected finding of three Ring Ouzels two hens and one juvenile feeding on hawthorne berries, initially flushed and flew away from the moor but within a few minutes flew almost overhead out on to the open moor one bird landing in the top of a hawthorne and the other two nearby on the ground.

Very large flocks of both Fieldfare and Redwing with good numbers of Starlings moving about in small flocks, good numbers of both Blackbird and Song Thrush, mostly around the hawthornes.

Hen Kestrel and an almost pure white Buzzard seen as well as Stonechat, Goldcrest and Meadow Pipit, in all 20 species identified.
