Bowling Green Marsh
Watched from 09:45 till 13:30
Managed to just get to the hide before the heavens opened and considering it was a low high tide the marsh was very busy. Watere levels continue to rise with wigeon numbers at 600+ and included a possible Hybrid wigeon x american wigeon see photo.
3 pintail, 65+ shoveler and good numbers of teal, excellent numbers of dunlin with 500+, the highest count of Bar tailed godwits of the autumn with 83+, 134+ avocets good number of redshank and 3 greenshanks, 40+ lapwing, 2 stonechats, 3 reed buntings , 3 chiffchaffs, 2 cetti's warblers , 2 snipe , 90+ redwing over.
A look around the viewing platform produced 3 water rail, 30+ redwing, 8+ fieldfare, 1 blackcap, 4 jay, 1 great spotted woodpecker, 1 kingfisher.
