North Torridge area

Manteo Way nature reserve had very high water level, making for interesting birding. 2 Kingfisher flew in a wide circle from the Torridge over the commuter traffic and back on my arrival. Flooded cowfield held some of the wintering Curlew, a Greenshank plus a patch tick of 2 drake Wigeon. The highly flooded stream held Little Grebe and Little Egret. Nothing at all at the main pool due to water level. Great light for viewing common passerines, only of note were considerably more Linnet than usual.
