North Devon

Sunday: 800 Golden Plover and 140 Lapwing on the Taw sandbank next to Chivenor at low water. Out for the Starling roost at Bideford Long Bridge, a Buzzard crossed the Torridge both Sunday and Saturday at dusk from the derelict quay buildings into gardens on Bideford side (quite weird) and Sunday a female Sparrowhawk flew into the roost to try for a catch but failed, flew off just feet above the road on the bridge itself.

Yesterday: A few hundred Golden Plover on the Skern, a redhead Red-breasted Merganser joined the Brent Geese at the north end of Northam's pebble-ridge and a flyover Merlin from the main road into Yelland from Instow.
