River Caen Estuary & Braunton Marsh

8:30 to 10:30 a nice walk with my grandaughter this morning produced a Marsh Harrier hunting over the marsh was great to see, a first for her. Other notable sightings were 4 Kingfisher, 3 Common Sandpiper, 3+ Redshank 150+ Starling 10+ Skylark, 20+ Meadow Pipits, 30+ Goldfinch, 20+ Teal, Family of Swans two adults and four youngsters, 1 Cetti's Wabler 4+ Grey Wagtail, 2 Raven, 1 Sparrowhawk 1 Kestrel and 2 Water Rail heard in the reedbeds.At a distance a large flock of what looked like 500+ Golden Plover and 40+ Lapwing heading south over the Taw Estuary. (to be confirmed by someone on the Fremington side of the Estuary).
