Upottery Airfield, Smeatharpe

Sometimes going out in absolutely atrocious weather has its rewards and today was one of those days. In the heavy and persistent rain that has been going on all day, finding a flock of 36 Mistle Thrushes would have been worth noting but to find a patch tick in terms of single Grey Plover sitting on one of the runways was beyond expectations. Plenty of Meadow Pipits, Skylarks and Pied wags around the sileage heaps but didn't feel inclined to count them!
