Tarka Trail nr. Yelland

Definite increase in Chaffinch recently but otherwise not many developments to report. Linnet flocks still small. Very good conditions for migration at height, only brief Skylark vis-mig of note. Plenty of Woodpigeon (first decent autumn flock of ~60 birds) and Stock Dove about. 1 Jay. Also medium gull spp. mobile around the ploughed fields. When checked again from the road, one was wearing a red darvic on right leg (as usual of late not readable with my scope at this distance) and of course it had to be a Mediterranean Gull. The rest appeared to be BHGull.
