East from Instow

Quick check this morning. Spring tide pushed a lot more Med Gull onto the cricket field than usual, allowing excellent views. Adult winter and juvenile both apparent. A definite sense of a passage of Song Thrush (can be hard to judge with breeding species), proving very showy, active and argumentative considering their usual nature. Similar story with Robin today. Several hundred Oystercatcher, often mobile as a single flock due to high tide and dog walking activity. A small falcon with fast wingbeats over the gas jetty, 99% sure of Merlin for the ID.
