Exminster Marshes

Brief visit between 9.30 and 11.00 failed to coincide with high water so few waders on the marsh. However 3 snipe and 2 greenshank flew over. About 30 teal on the lagoon. A flock of c70 meadow pipit was the largest I have seen so far this autumn, a couple of wheatears were with them. Also seen were 2 sedge warblers, a few swallows, 4 house martins, numerous chiffchaffs, including 2 in full song, and a couple of jays collecting acorns.
