Did the WeBS count for the ley this morning and saw 2 Little Grebes, 3 Mute Swans ( pr and 1 young ), 15 Canada Geese, 43 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck,  2 Moorhen and 65 Coot. Big improvement on last year (  in January the count registered an unbelievable zero ) so something has changed for the better. Will be interesting to see how Slapton Ley ( which was brilliant last winter ) fares this time around. Also heard singing Cetti's Warbler and Chiffchaff. Lone Wheatear on the windswept beach.
