South Huish - Purple Heron

Arrived at South Huish at 5.10pm to be greeted with c100 cars and hundreds of people, apparently either attending a local wedding or an organised BBQ on the beach. Local birders told me that the Purple Heron unsurprisingly hadn't been seen again since flying back into the far left hand corner in front of the willows. I joined John Day and luckily at 5.38pm the Juvenile Purple Heron flew out from the far left hand corner, flew down the marsh and stood in full view on the marsh on the seaward side of the second ditch behind the back pool.  After 20 minutes of excellent uninterrupted views, it flew back again to the back left hand side of the marsh( Which is presumably its favoured area). On the pool a Curlew Sand and a Dunlin. 1+ Yellow Wagtail and a Hobby was seen chasing Swallows by Carol from Plymouth.
