Taw estuary from Fremington (friday 29th)

1730-1830 While walking the dog from Fremington Quay yesterday evening I accepted the challenge to find some odd-ones-out amongst the Taw Oystercatcher and Curlew bonanza, with some success. Walked west along Tarka Trail to join the beach from sea wall back to the Quay. First flock, by the sea wall, had a single Knot in nearly full winter plumage. Next feeding group east, another single treat, a winter plumage Bar-tailed Godwit. Finally, back on east side of creek mouth by the bridge, a single Greenshank. Also 2 Willow Warbler calling from beach scrub. Been checking BHGulls on the creek for ringed birds, just two wearing metal rings so far, no colour rings.
