Around the Axe

A lovely summer plumaged Curlew Sandpiper on Black Hole Marsh over high tide today (at least). Also 1 Wood Sand, 1 Greenshank, 2 Ringed Plover, 6 Dunlin, 1 Med Gull and a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull over. The YLG landed in a field full of gulls following a plough just west of the marsh.

Earlier today there were 30+ Willow Warblers and 5+ Whitethroats on Beer Head (with five of the former and one of the latter trapped and ringed).
