Plym Estuary

A reasonable selection of birds today over the high tide.

Waders included 32 Curlews, 2 Whimbrels (both same numbers as last weekend), 36 Redshanks, 2 Greenshanks, a Dunlin (sum-plum) and 4 Common Sandpipers. Also 7 Little Egrets, a Stock Dove, and 2 Kingfishers. Amongst the Black-headed Gulls, were 10 juvs plus a second-summer Mediterranean with a damaged right leg and also a metal ring on that leg. A pair of Shelducks had 10 juvs - 1 down on last week.

Best sighting by far however was a buck Roe Deer which ran right across Blaxton Pool (well spotted Torr) - the first one I've ever seen here.
