Meeth NR

I had a short walk around just part of Meeth Nature Reserve yesterday and what a diverse and rich habitat there is there despite it being still quite new.

Some of the birds I saw were Mallard, Canada Goose, Little Grebe, Moorhen with chick, Coot, Green Woodpecker, Magpie, many Jackdaws, Carrion Crow, Great, Blue and Long-tailed Tit, Linnet,Blackbird, Song Thrush, Tree Pipit, Blackcap, Willow warbler, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat, Woodpigeon. Swift, House Martin and Swallow were overhead.

This was a recce for the Mid Devon Group Field Trip to take place on Friday, 20th June and is a taster for what is there to be seen.  The area is developing fast and will be a haven for dragonflies and wildlife generally.  Certainly worth a visit.
