Prawle Point

Watched the sea from 6.50 till 11.20 in a rough westerly 4 going 5/6 (ie again stronger than forecast) Highlights were : 1 second year Pomarine Skua  which flew west at 8.40; 4 Great Northern Divers , 3 of which were in full summer plumage ; 5 Turnstones , 3 Sandwich Terns and a Whimbrel all west.

A group of 70 plus Gannets heralded a pod of at least 20 Common Dolphins west. And just after 10am 2 large Basking Sharks appeared from the west and fed happily for the duration of my watch.

The usual resident birds now include 3 House Martins and 1 Swift .
