Whilst ringing in the reserve this  morning, I saw a succession of birders heading down to Sherpa Marsh, so when I packed up I wandered down to see what they were all looking at/for. Sue Bruce was looking for Reed Warblers, but the other three were lying down waiting for the Garganey to show. I'd just walked past it! They went back to see it, while I went further on and put up a Little Ringed Plover!

Went back to them and they then returned to see that too!

Earlier I had seen a single Swift over the fields south of the reserve.
