Otter Estuary, Budleigh Salterton

A call from Doug Cullen had me heading down to the Otter Estuary looking for a 1st year Gannet that seemed to have some fishing line hanging from its beak. It was harrassed by gulls and then settled on the flooded scrape fields just north of the Lime Kiln Car Park. Quite a surreal sight as it sat in amongst the gulls. As we scanned the nearby ducks and gulls, a nice surprise was a Glossy Ibis feeding well and visible from the main footpath north from the car park. Also seen by Peter Bennett from his garden! Nice garden tick!
