Around the exe

Started at Bowling green marsh from the hide at 09:45

400+ avocet, the 1st winter long tailed duck showed well at times, 1 spotted redshank, 1500+ dunlin was a very good count for the marsh, 2 water rail, a male Merlin put in a brief appearance and a peregrine attacked a group of wigeon , 1 female pochard , 1 male tufted duck, 2 red breasted mergansers(1f,1m), 15+ shoveler, 9+ pintail, good numbers of teal and wigeon, 1 curlew, 2 lapwing, 25+ snipe, 80+ bar tailed godwit, 1 black tailed godwit.

the black redstart showed briefley at topsham recreation ground with 1 grey wagtail

moved on to dawlish warren for the afternoon 

7 velvet Scoter were close in of langstone rock, 5+ great northern diver close in the Bonaparts gull flew along the beach then headed into the estuary, 1 great crested grebe, a 2nd winter little gull was on the sea, 7+ pintail, at least 70+ common scoter in 2 groups also a brief view of a possible black necked grebe, 1 razorbill, 8+ guillemot.
