Thurlestone Bay

Apologies for yesterdays omission - I needed to add - Wood Pigeon . ( thanks Pete ).

An unexpected good day on the patch- there was no vis mig this morning , a 2hr seawatch from the car park produced 215 Gannet, 140 Kittiwake ( this included a flock of 65 on the sea )- these attracted the attention of at least 3 Great Skua ( 4 birds seen in total I lost 1 when it sat on the sea ) a Teal , 4 Common Scoter and 3 Auks all flew east.

On South Huish Marsh - 35 Teal, 25 Wigeon, 1 f Shoveler , and an imm Tufted Duck ( only our 3rd record of the year )  AJL had a male Merlin, there was also Kestrel, Buzzard and Sparrowhawk on the patch

Nick T took the Nat Trust team round South Milton Ley and found a Kingfisher and an imm Marsh Harrier - both scarce here

Not often we have 5 species of raptor in a day
