Thurlestone Bay
First morning with a frost at dawn, also clear skies so another vis mig watch from 08.00, I was in Thurlestone with Bob B at Huxton Cross ( about 2miles inland )
Over my house first flock picked up at 08.10 and passage lasted to around 08.35 My total logged was just over 10,000 all flying towards Soar. Bob's passage was more dense and lasted longer - he recorded over 30,000. We both agree the total count of 40,000 was conservative. Other species recorded were - By me - 16 Goldfinch, 8 Chaffinch , 4 Song Thrush, 1 Redwing, 6 Skylark, 14 Mipit, 3 Goldcrest, 2 Grey Wagtail, 7 Lapwing
Bob _- 1 Siskin, 1 Brambling, 3 Fieldfare . He alo flushed 50 Snipe and a Cettis Warbler on T'stone Marsh.
Offshore 7 Common Scoter flew east
