South Brent & Berry Head 12/11/2013

The Wood pigeon migration was underway again between 8am and 9am this morning over South Brent one huge flock of approx 1000 birds headed west, several 100 / 200 strong sized flocks, much higher than recent days, in some of the flocks the individual birds were just dots in the sky, some of the smaller flocks came lower and were seen to drop into the oaks on Brent Hill, dropping into areas of oak trees seem to be a regular theme with these passage birds.

Berry Head ~ mid morning ~ Flock of 30 plus Gold Finches by the car park with a couple of Linnets, Stone Chats in the quarry.

Good number of Gannets flying and diving and reasonable number of porpoise some distance out while watching them saw two birds flying into the bay just above the waves, one dropped onto the sea and simply could not be seen again the other flew on am convinced they were Puffins but cannot tbe 100%
