A 2hr vis mig watch from my house at 07.20 was superb , With clear skies and little wind the Wood Pigeon were the star attraction - in the first hour 5200 and then they really got moving another 22,000 in the second hour , not quite up to the totals in Newport Wales but a good patch count , other species recorded were -

85 Chaffinch, 14 Goldfinch, 9 Siskin, 70 Skylark, 11 Mipit, 4 Reed Bunting, 275 Starling, 8 Pied Wagtail, 1 Grey Wagtail, 25 Fieldfare, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Song Thrush, 5 Jay. 1 Green Woodpecker , 2 flocks of Wigeon 25 & 14 flew west as well as a M Pintail.

On the marsh 17 Teal, 2 Wigeon and a Water Rail.

Bob B had 7 Reed Bunting, 4 Chiffchaff at S M Ley and a Dunlin on the beach, he also had 8000+ Wood Pigeon at Huxton Cross some of which were probably in my totals . Finally a very nice F Black Redstart in my garden
