East Soar

visited East Soar between 0745-1145. A strong breeze meant I headed towards Starehole Valley. Very few birds though as leaving saw 3 Ring Ouzel on southern side of valley. A few Song Thrushes too. A loop around Bolt Head and over to the small wood and up popped a very obliging Red-breasted Flycatcher. Showed very well. Followed by coffee and carrot cake.

Totals: Song Thrush 12+, Chiffchaff 2, Goldcrest 3, Blackcap 1, Wheatear 1, Great Spotted Wood 1 and Chaffinch 10. Also 30 Meadow Pipits and 25 Skylark.
