Prawle Sightings

Highlight today was a Short-Eared Owl that flew over the hump and then out to sea west at 9.25am.Otherwise ,as Perry indicated, far fewer birds migrating overhead though 2 Reed Buntings dropping into a hedge on the hump was a pleasant surprise.

Other recent visits : on 7 Oct seawatch produced 16 Balearic Shearwaters west , 2 Bonxies and 1 Pom Skua plus I caught up with 'Pat's' Firecrest briefly.

On 9 October with Pat viz mig saw in addition (minimum ): 320 meadow pipits,240 Alba Wags (mainly pied),94 Skylarks. Also 1 Firecrest, 1 Yellow wagtail,7 Wheatear, 1 GS Woodpecker and my first 3 Long Tailed Tits this autumn.

Photo of the Firecrest to follow ( as best I've taken to date)
