With blue sky and sunshine ,pretty quiet at Prawle this morning though I did see my first Goldcrest of the  autumn . But only 1 Willow Warbler,8 Chiffchaffs, 5 Whitethroats, 4 Blackcaps,8 Wheatears, 1 Ringed Plover and 3 Turnstone. But then at 12 ish  over 250  hirundines flew over the car park/bunkers and later ,at 1.30pm, whilst in Pig's Nose valley I sat down and counted 1000 plus hirundiines-mainly Swallows, then House Martins and a few Sand Martins  in just half an hour ! Terrific sight as they flew right past me. I gave up counting as I had to leave . Did anyone else count the hirundines through South Hams today ?
