Prawle Point

Seawatch from 7.25am in WSW force 2-3 with mist for an hour produced only Gannets ( and 1 imm Lesser BB Gull !) but joined by Pat ( on the mend) things picked up. Highlights being a Grey Phalarope close west (10.15am)-only my second ever at Prawle ; summer plumaged Red Throated Diver (11.15) and at 12.35 a Black Throated Diver , again in summer plumage. Also close an imm Arctic Skua and a Bonxie, plus 53 Balearic Shearwaters, 83 Manxies, 19 Fulmars, 19 Razorbills,3 Guillemots,2 Dunlin and 1 Sandwich Tern all west. Gannets 151 west and 42 east by time I left at 1.25pm, when wind strengthening and heavier rain. Where did all the skuas go ?
