Beer Head

Certainly felt like we have entered the 'next phase' of autumn migration up Beer Head this morning, with a small arrival of Chiffchaffs and the first decent movement of Meadow Pipits. The north wind ensured the migrating flocks of Pipits/Wags were landing briefly before continuing west.  Sadly I found nothing rarer than a Pied Fly, although it always felt like a goodie was around the next corner.

Full counts: c100 Meadow Pipit, 75 Yellow Wag, 5 White Wag, 2 Grey Wag, 26 Wheatear, 1 Whinchat, 1 Pied Fly, 4 Spotted Fly, 28 Chiffchaff, 1 Willow Warbler, 11 Blackcap, 3 Whitethroat, 600+ Swallow/House Martin and 2 Mute Swan east!
